There’s not much to today’s post…just a little journal entry that’s masquerading as a poem today. It’s a reminder I need on a daily basis, and I hope that it blesses you, too. ❤
I choose You, Father.
Not me.
I choose Your battles. Not mine.
I choose Your weapons. Not mine.
I choose Your heart. Not mine.
I choose Your way. Not mine.
I choose Your vision. Not mine.
I choose You, Father.
I choose You.

Love this. Have you heard the old prayer attributed to St. Patrick, called something like “Christ Be With Me”?
I just found a link for the whole thing and it’s longer than I thought, but this is the part your poem reminded me of:
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.”
I especially like the line “Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me.” That’s my prayer—that Christ will be who people see and think of when they think of me.

Oh, I love that!! I’ve heard it referenced, but I don’t think I’ve ever read the whole thing. Thanks so much for sharing, Emma!
